As I strolled around the back gardens this morning, I found a couple of the plants lingering. There are still buds on the New Dawn climbing rose and flowers tucked in amongst the fallen leaves on a primula. This pretty pop of blue and yellow brought a smile to my face.
There's also a promise for spring with the first flower buds on the lilac 'Beauty of Moscow' planted last year.
And this dwarf gold cypress I won as a draw prize the end of October promises some glowing colour over winter.

Hello, Judith
I'll need to take a closer look in the backyard and see what I can find. I am pretty much assured of not discovering as many lovely blooms as you did!

Good Afternoon Judith, How lovely to still find a little colour in your garden. I'm afraid I can't find anything in mine, but I look forward to Spring when all the bulbs will be forcing their way through the earth to bring us much longed for colour. Best Wishes Daphne
I remember going around the side of the house last November to find a pink primula in bloom. It was exciting as yours are. Makes your day doesn't it!! Valerie
How nice to see these late blooms. Lovely images and mosaics. My yard is just full of leaves. Is Canada's thanksgiving day soon? Have a great week ahead.
How lovely to see rose buds this time of the year. Although we are having warm days for the time of the year, the nights are cold so it brings frost early mornings, so no tiny rosebuds. Enjoy them while they last.
Best wishes. Barbara Lilian
Primulas must truly enjoy the cold because mine is the only thing green out there besides the parsley. The rosebuds look lovely...frozen in time in a way.
It has been a gorgeous day for exploring the backyards. The birds have been very busy in ours, flitting in and out of the birdhouses and checking for seedheads on the plants.
Judith,
Love the primrose. I miss them. i shall have to see if I can get some when we get back to Maine.
Beautiful photos.

Hello Judith, Love the gold cypress color - outstanding! The rosebuds are pretty and so is your blue primula. Fall is looking good in the gardens at Lavender Cottage!
Hi Judith!
I love Primulas but I've never had good luck in growing them here. Yours are such a pretty blue.

I am hoping for another mild winter this year--perhaps your lilac buds know something about that? Your Primulas are such a beautiful blue color!
What a nice treat for you in the garden. Your pictures are lovely!
It's very nice to have late bloomers to enjoy on into the Fall. Our hibiscus is in bloom right now! I need to take some photos! Enjoy the week to come!
really wonderful macro work! Hope you have a great week ahead!
The plants are trying hard to defy winter's arrival.
The rose buds are very pretty and the primula really adds an unexpected pop of color. Lovely finds.
Very pretty and the conifer I like too. Love conifers anyway but the Winter color is a plus for me.

How wonderful to still be enjoying your garden so late in the year, Judith! Everything has settled in for a long winters' nap at our house. :)
Wishing you a lovely week,

I always love coming here that lavender I can sometimes smell.Another lovely post and it must be nice to still have nice colors in your garden.
I love those rose buds. They are very pretty!
Those tiny rosebuds are so darling. I think it wonderful that the buds are already forming on your lilac - now I want to go out and check mine.
Have a wonderful week!
Calling by from Macro Monday, I especially enjoy seeing rosebuds at this time of the year.
Hi Judith,
Loved your images, especially the primroses. We will start getting them into the nurseries around Jan 1. So nice to see one blooming now.

My poor garden is nearly asleep now. The roses are still blooming though - how stalwart they are! ::Jill
Nice little garden surprises...some just not wanting to let go. I had one single rose bud holding it's own the other day...I doubt that it shall ever show it's face. Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours~
Beautiful mosaic! It's nice to see flowers still in your world.
